If the electricity bill is not increased, people will have to adapt to power cuts running to several hours, Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said.  

In a statement to the media, he stated that some people have criticized that the electricity bill will be increased to compensate for past losses.  

If such a decision was taken, the charges will have to be increased in a higher proportion.
