Daily Mirror.lk was adjudged the best designed news website of the year award at the Journalism Awards 2021 organised by Sri Lanka Press Institute (SLPI) and The Editors’ Guild of Sri Lanka (TEGOSL) yesterday where excellence of journalists was recognised and rewarded at the Mount Lavinia Hotel. Daily Mirror Web Editor Sunil Jayasiri received the award.   

Daily Mirror journalists Namal Amarasinghe won Cartoonist of the Year award while Piyumi Fonseka adjudged as the Investigative Journalist of the Year. Senior journalist D. B. S. Jeyaraj who has been contributing to Daily Mirror from Canada was conferred with D. R. Wijewardene award for earning the appreciation of peers. Daily Mirror Associate Editor Susitha Fernando received the award on behalf of Jeyaraj. The Sunday Times, Daily Lankadeepa, Deshaya and Daily FT of the Wijeya Newspapers Ltd also bagged awards.
