Emotional message by Schaffter found CID quizzes Dinesh Schaffter’s mother-in-law

The CID has recorded statements from more than 80 persons including the mother-in-law of businessman Dinesh Schaffter in connection with the investigations into the murder.  Schaffter’s mother in law was questioned as investigators found SMS messages that Schaffter allegedly wrote a few days before his death, to his mother-in-law, and it is said that it contains emotional comments.  

The letter he sent to his mother-in-law says, “Thank you very much for raising such a good daughter.”  

Earlier, the CID recorded statements from several persons including Schaffter’s wife, his close relatives and business partners. Sources said the investigators had also recorded statements from some of them on a number of occasions including Schaffter’s wife.  

It was reported that the CID had questioned Scahffter’s mother-in-law based on a text message and a document she is said to have received from Schaffter before his death.  
The officers had questioned the wife further to find out whether the husband and wife had any issues between them and also to know about the business transactions and several other details.  

Meanwhile, police had examined footage from at least 60 CCTV cameras as of now.  

However, the police have yet to name a suspect over the incident and the Homicide and Organized Crimes Investigation Unit of the CID is conducting further investigations.
