New Excise Chief gets highest revenue target of Rs.217Bn for 2023

• Mr. Jayasinghe will implement new strategies to meet this revenue target

Newly appointed Chief of the Department of Excise Saman Jayasinghe has got the department history’s highest tax revenue target of Rs.217 billion for 2023.  Sri Lanka Administrative Service (SLAS) Special Grade officer Saman Jayasinghe had been appointed as the new Excise Commissioner General this week by the Minister of Finance.  

Mr. Jayasinghe who assumed duties at the department head office in Rajagiriya will implement new strategies to meet this revenue target for this year as the head of one of the three main revenue collecting arms of the government, Excise Spokesman Commissioner Kapila Kumarasinghe told Daily Mirror.  

He was the Additional Director General of the Public Enterprise Department of the Ministry of Finance previously.
