Ruwan Wijewardene appointed as Presidential Advisor on climate change

UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene has been appointed as a Presidential Advisor on climate change, President’s office said yesterday.  

A statement from the President’s office said this position would be an important one since Sri Lanka is a signatory of the Paris Summit on Climate in 2016. 

 
“Mr. Wijewardene will focus on carbon emission, developing green houses, developing of renewable energy projects and building of a green economy and will support and advise the President on these matters,” the statement added.
