SL Ambassador to USA Mahinda Samarasinghe assumes duties

• He stepped down as a Member of Parliament to take up the post last week

Former MP Mahinda Samarasinghe assumed duties as Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to the United States of America, Mexico and Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday.  

He stepped down as a Member of Parliament to take up the post last week.   He was appointed to the post following the vacancy by the retirement of Ambassador Ravinatha Aryasinghe.
