SL, Saudi Arabia explores cooperation in multiple areas

• The two sides signed a MoU regarding political consultations between the two countries

Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia conducted a joint committee meeting covering areas such as trade, economy, investment, tourism, sports, transportation and telecommunication for cooperation.   

According to a tweet by the Foreign Ministry of Saudi Arabia, they reviewed friendship and cooperation in addition to discussing cooperation in the regional and international arenas.   

After the meeting, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding political consultations between the two countries. The meeting was chaired by Saudi Vice Foreign Minister Waleed bin AbdulKarim El-Khereiji and Sri Lankan State Minister of Foreign Affairs Tharaka Balasuriya. Saudi Ambassador to Sri Lanka Khalid bin Hamoud Al-Qahtani also attended the meeting.
