Schaffter’s death Statement recorded from Chamuditha Samarawickrama

• Based on the fact that he had conducted a 40-minute interview on a YouTube channel
• Two-and-a-half-hour statement was recorded from him

A statement has been recorded from journalist Chamuditha Samarawickrama in connection with the death of businessman and director of Janashakthi Group Dinesh Schaffter, a high-ranking Police officer said.

 He said a two-and-a-half-hour statement was recorded from Chamuditha after being summoned before the Homicide and Organized Crime Investigation Division of the CID. 

He said a statement was recorded from Chamuditha based on the fact that he had conducted a 40-minute interview on a YouTube channel with investigative journalist Keerthi Rathnayake over Schaffter’s death on the same day of the incident.
