Theft of fuel from bowser

 The driver and his helper of a bowser transporting fuel were arrested on suspicion of stealing petrol from a bowser transporting petrol from Colombo to Haputale Ceylon Petroleum Corporation stores in the early hours of last morning.   

A team of police officers patrolling Haldumulla area had noticed the two men drawing petrol from the bowser and immediately arrested them.  


 Police said the suspects who parked the bowser by the roadside at Kalupahana area in Haldumulla were drawing petrol and that they had already drawn out nine litres of petrol.  


The bowser containing 33,000 litres of petrol and the suspects were to be produced before the Bandarawela Magistrate yesterday. Police said the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation would check the stock of petrol in the bowser.
