Those who accuse me of having dual citizenship have gone mad - Diana Gamage

• According to the law anyone is innocent until proven guilty

Challenging the reports which said she is one of the MPs who hold dual citizenship, State Minister Diana Gamage yesterday said those who claim this should prove it on record.   

State Minister Gamage told Daily mirror that any one is innocent until proven guilty.  “According to the law anyone is innocent until proven guilty. They who make this accusation have gone mad. If I was a dual citizen it should be recorded,” she said.  A complaint was filed against her pertaining to the passport, birth certificate, and National Identity Card recently after which the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court issued notice to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to submit facts on the investigations into the complaint on October 27. The CID has been ordered to submit facts to the court on the investigations into the complaint on 10th November 2022.
