Nilfer resigns as Head Coach of St. Joseph’s

Former Kingswood College, Kandy SC and Navy SC player and the current Head Coach of Police SC and St. Joseph’s College rugby outfit Nilfer Ibrahim today tendered his resignation from the Darley Road School.

Nilfer, who took over the Joes rugby outfit in 2017, steered them to win the President’s Trophy KnockOut Championship in the initial year.

Thereafter, he took St Joseph’s to the runners-up position - both in the League and Knock-Out Tournaments the following year.

In 2019, he was able to  take the Joes to a third place finish.

Nilfer, who had a one-year stint at Kingswood College, returned to Darley Road once again in 2022 and continued
until 2024.

In 2022, St. Joseph’s ended up as the runners-up - both in the League and Knock-Out Tournament while in 2023 he took the team to the semifinals of the Knock-Out, CR and FC Sevens and the AllIsland Sevens Tournaments.
