Thomians crowned champs

S. Thomas' College stamped their class by winning the Cup Championship of the All-Island Under-14 Elite Ten-a-Side Rugby Tournament 2024, defeating Science College 12-5 in the Cup final at the Sugathadasa Stadium.

The Thomian team was led by co-captains Tehan Dammage and Yokitha Perera, with coaching by Viranjaya Silva and Oshada Weerasekera. Zahira secured the Plate by beating St. Peter’s 14-5, while Isipathana won the Bowl, defeating two-time defending champions Wesley 17-5. Trinity took home the Shield, defeating Vidyartha.

Notably, the 2022 and 2023 champions Wesley competed in the Bowl segment, while Trinity played in the Shield match alongside Vidyartha.

• Plate final: Zahira beat St. Peter’s 14-5
