With the rapid increase in Rheumatological disorders and new paradigms in the field of medical technology and pharmaceuticals, the need for sharing knowledge between countries has become of paramount importance.
Within this context, MARKSS HEALTHCARE (PVT) LTD – one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Sri Lanka – along with 3S Bio Pharmaceutical Group of , Shanghai (which is China’s number one bio similar company), joined hands to lay the cornerstone of a forum for sharing knowledge between the College of Specialists in Rheumatology and Rehabilitation in Sri Lanka and the Rheumatology Association of Shanghai Hence the inaugural Knowledge Sharing Forum took place at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo, on the 19th of August 2016, with the participation of fifty eminent Rheumatologists from China alongside distinguished Sri Lankan Rheumatologists.
While speaking at the event, Dr. Nihal Gunatillaka–President of the Ceylon College of Physicians and President of the College of Specialists in Rheumatology and Rehabilitation in Sri Lanka thanked both companies for their initiative towards facilitating knowledge sharing and emphasized the new trends in the field of Rheumatology, where there is a significant shift in the treatment from Synthetic molecules to biological products.
Dr. Shuang Ye, Vice Director of the Department of Rheumatology at Renji Hospital in Shanghai, made an enlightening presentation on groundbreaking new treatments used in China on Rheumatological disorders and welcomed Sri Lankan Doctors to partake in their academic sessions.
Dr. Xinping Tian, professor of Medicine at the Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH) in China, shared her plethora of knowledge on Rheumatology and also discussed the safety aspects of biologicals in Rheumatological disorders.
The Local partners of the 3S Bio Pharmaceutical Group, MARKSS HEALTHCARE (PVT) LTD Managing Director Rajiv Nanayakkara, emphasized the company’s commitment towards facilitating this unique endeavor between the Rheumatologists of Sri Lanka and China.
