The programme has been themed under the name ‘Senahasa’, and will include Sri Lanka’s first female-friendly maternity and childcare unit tailored to conservative ladies.
The facility was opened to the public on the 25th of January by Chief Guest Professor Lal Chandrasena, President Private Hospitals Association and Director Nawaloka Hospitals. Many other distinguished guests and consultants in the field of obstetrics & gynecology was present including Dr. Gamini Senevirate, Director Castle Street Hospital, Professor HemanthaDodampala (Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist) and Dr. M.R.M Rishard (Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist) to name a few were present for the event.
The state-of-the-art 10 bedded facility includes latest 4d doppler machines, neonatal incubators for the special baby care unit, CTG cardiograph machines, digital X ray imaging machines, US scan machines and high tech lab equipment catering to maternal mother’s needs . The unit is expected to conduct normal deliveries, elective caesarean section, family planning services, immunization clinic, pregnancy tests and post discharge home visits and breastfeeding management are a few services that are expected to be undertaken for both pre and post natal cases at the unit.
As an introductory offer pricings on elective caesarian sections and normal delivery are expected to provide at attractive prices and will include ancillary benefits such as free gift pack, birth registration assistance and a free savings account from a bank. Special discounts for specific banks, corporations and insurance companies are expected to be included in the introductory offer.
