PIM Alumni engages in developing young managers

The PIM Alumni, the alumni of the Postgraduate Institute of Management, affiliated to the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, has been conducting a pioneering management development programme for over a decade on a continuous basis.

The PIM Alumni has been the pioneer in designing this unique educational programme under the name and style of ‘Developing Managers for the Future’. The main objective of this unique educational programme is to provide specific benefits for the young and aspiring executives, middle managers, young graduates, management trainees as well as for the forward thinking senior managers of all corporate sector institutions.

This unique programme envisages in providing and enhancing their management knowledge with modern management theories coupled with practical experiences which provide a balance view for the executives. The specifically developed curricular included in the programme is expected to provide the participants the vital management ingredients in a nut shell, through a comprehensive programme, within a short time span.

It is an opportunity for the participants to enrich themselves with knowledge and modern know how and thus encouraging them to perform with enthusiasm and vigour, subsequently offering valuable gains for the participating institutions. The PIM Alumni recently concluded a glamorous c e r t i f i c a t e aw a r d i n g ceremony for the enthusiastic participants who successfully concluded the its 35th programme, at Galadari Hotel, Colombo.

The chief guest at the occasion was Sampath Bank PLC Head of HR and Training Lalith Weragoda. We r a g o d a , a w e l l - known human resource development professional in the corporate sector, reiterated the importance of professional upliftment of the young and aspiring managers and encouraged them to become more committed and responsible managers in the future at his keynote. The young executives, who participated in 35th programme of ‘Developing Managers for the Future’, represented the banking, leasing and finance, micro finance, insurance, manufacturing and services sectors.
