As the number of Gen Y and Gen Z employees enter the workforce, organisations have learned that their expectations about the hiring process differ from those of older generations and in order to be effective they are going to have to find new ways of engaging these Gen Y and Gen Z candidates.

Two decades ago, the resume was a piece of paper; today, the world of recruiting is almost hundred percent digital. What RecruitX hopes to do is move toward a digital hiring model by cutting down on the time taken to sift through resumes, manually searching for a candidate and then going through the tedious and time consuming task of interviewing candidates who might not even fit the job profile. This technology will be used as the primary screening method and will displace resumes.

The story never changes; jobs are posted, candidates take blind shots and send CVs to anything and everything, with both sides crossing their fingers and hoping for the best. With RecruitX, candidates apply for jobs by entering their skills instead of uploading CVs. RecruitX is streamlining the hiring process for employers, who don’t have to waste time sifting through CVs and don’t have to worry about no-shows at interviews. RecruitX’s unique algorithm instantly let’s candidates know whether they match the job they applied for. Video interviews allow applicantsto record their responses to questions posed by the employer, which can be done at their own time. This gives the candidates a chance to get over the jitters and deliver their responses with confidence, allowing a second chance at a first impression.

On 29 September at Trace City, RecruitX, a tech start-up refining the recruitment process by connecting employers with candidates using intuitive technology, launched their beta web application that lets job seekers & employers navigate the complicating and frustrating world of recruitment in a quick, simplified and effective way.

At the launch, the CEO of RecruitX, Dulanka Weraduwage said, “After years of hiring as an employer both in Australia and Sri Lanka, we’ve realised it’s so important to hire people who are easy to train and fit into your team. Unfortunately, the process of figuring this out can be quite tedious for employers in the Sri Lankan landscape. Both companies and candidates need only meet if they are compatible, this would save time and money for both parties. With RecruitX we will be using our revolutionary algorithm to match employers to candidates and further allow them to meet online with minimum fuss.”
