ACCA applauds and felicitates new members

ACCA recently held a celebratory evening at Cinnamon Grand to celebrate the success of new members and to recognize their achievements. The ceremony is part of ACCA’s global tradition to welcome its new members and to celebrate their first milestone achieved with ACCA. These new members are part of the vibrant ACCA community globally, which now consists of more than 170,000 members in 183 countries.
Present at the occasion were ACCA Global President Datuk Alexander Chin, ACCA Sri Lanka President Dhanuska Samarasinghe, ACCA Sri Lanka Head Nilusha Ranasinghe, ACCA council members, past presidents and other key stakeholders.
Samarasinghe opened the ceremony by welcoming the new members and other guests. This was followed by special remarks from the Chin who congratulated the new members and stated that the ACCA membership would open many doors of opportunity for them. She explained that this was because ACCA members are highly valued by employers the world over. 
She further said that becoming a member of ACCA means that they are fully supported by a professional accountancy body with global reach that understands the important roles accountants play in both the private and public sectors and seeks to provide members with access to resources, which will ensure that they can reap the full benefits of this exciting profession. 
She added, “ACCA continues to work towards being regarded as the leading global body for professional accountants by reputation, size and influence. In this way, we strive to be always on the pulse of what is happening globally and in doing so, ensure that you have the tools to become visionaries and leaders within your respective companies.”
The new members were awarded certificates and pins by Chin, Samarasinghe and Ranasinghe.
