Chamari wins IPM PQHRM Gold Medal at 2015 Graduation

The Jayanta Jayaratna Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Performance in the prestigious PQHRM course conducted by The Nation’s leader in human resources management - IPM Sri Lanka – was awarded to Chamari Lalanthi Edirisinghe at the IPM’s 2015 Graduation Awards Ceremony recently. The PQHRM is the premium study programme of IPM Sri Lanka.  

The Gold Medal for Excellence in Performance in PQHRM, an initiative of IPM Sri Lanka past President Jayanta Jayaratna, was awarded for the very first time in the year 2002 and has been awarded 7 times since its inception. It is awarded to the best performer in PQHRM based on a list of stringent criteria such as passing each module in the syllabus in the very first attempt with a minimum of 60 marks, achieving an overall average of 80%, all case studies submitted within the stipulated time frames without any re-submissions and the final research report submitted on or before the stipulated time frame. Out of the 19 distinction passes obtained by the PQHRM students, this year’s gold medalist obtained an aggregated average of 84.58%.  

“The Gold medal award for the best performer in the PQHRM study programme was initiated in 2002 to encourage as many professionals to achieve their potential in obtaining the prestigious professional qualification.  Significantly, our past President Jayanta Jayaratna has been the main-force behind the preparation of the PQHRM syllabus in 2005” said Rohitha Amarapala-President, IPM Sri Lanka. 

“Mr. Jayaratna has contributed immensely to the progress of IPM Sri Lanka and also to boosting of the HR profession in numerous ways” he added.
The Professional Qualification in Human Resources Management (PQHRM) is a much sort after professional qualification offered by IPM Sri Lanka, and is a highly recognized and accepted stepping stone for progression and career development in the human resources management sphere.

IPM Sri Lanka keeps pace with the new trends and concepts in HR by engaging continuously with the business community to share experiences, thoughts and insights in order to enrich and enhance the HR profession. It actively encourages and promotes members’ participation at international conferences and fora to provide exposure; build networks and conduct research into areas of interest to the HR profession in Sri Lanka. 

IPM was founded in 1959 and was subsequently incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1976. IPM is affiliated to the Asia Pacific Foundation of Human Resources Management and also to the World Federation of People Management Association. IPM, being a professional institute is also a constituent member of the Organization of Professional Associations [OPA] Sri Lanka. Currently IPM comprises of over 900 Professional Members who serve in both public and private organizations.
