The CIMA Business Leaders’ Summit themed ‘Future Defined’ and scheduled for June 16 and 17, will be bringing a human resources (HR) expert, Accenture Managing Director Human Resources Manoj Biswas to deliberate on how companies can sustain agility.
His presentation titled ‘Fragility to Agility’ will rationalise how big companies maintain their performance edge even in the face of significant business changes in their competitive environment.
Understanding a company’s ecosystem of business and economy is considered as the key to defining how the various levers of change are causing fragility. The fundamental step in navigating your company to agility is being watchful of these factors. Biswas will discuss this in depth, review VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous) times and how organisations are reorganising to create success, as well as how some have lost out in their inability to adapt.
A recent McKinsey survey discloses the benefits of enhanced agility: higher revenues, more satisfied customers and employees, improved operational efficiency and a faster time to market. This year’s summit will give participants an opportunity to understand these dynamics of change and the drivers of agility in their respective businesses.
Biswas will also analyse the generational rift in the current workforce and ways to bridge this gap by fostering agility. He will also discuss innovation and technology, highlighting the impact of these factors in the future of business as well as its workforce.
At Accenture, Biswas manages the entire gamut of HR functions supporting more than 130,000 employees. He has been with Accenture for eight years holding various HR leadership roles, including the HR leader for the Philippines and currently sits on the HR leadership team of Accenture Global. He is identified as a transformational leader who has led HR transformation for Accenture India and the Philippines. He has also advised clients on change transformation, talent management and branding, and culture strategy.
In his overall career span of more than 25 years (19 years of experience in IT industry and six years in the Indian Armed Forces), he has gained significant achievements in human resource management, general management, strategic management and IT product development and management. He has held significant leadership roles across large MNCs like Accenture and IBM and also IPPs like Wipro. He has also worked with diversified clients and has experience in managing HR in different environments both in India and across other countries (the US, UK, Philippines, China and others).
Biswas, who is also a member of the Board of National Human Resource Development, Bangalore, works with eminent industry colleagues to build and foster a progressive HR environment for the country. He will be bringing his extensive experiences throughout his career into the conference presentation with special focus on HR and talent transformation, along with various international case studies. He will also share five reinventions in HR to help companies sustain/establish agility in workplace.
