HRMI offers employability enhancement for undergraduates

11 Mar 2015 - {{hitsCtrl.values.hits}}

As a part of its commitment to help undergraduates and unemployed graduates enhance their employability opportunities, HRMI has initiated a very generous concessionary scheme under which students are offered a discount of Rs.49,500, which amounts to 33 percent of the course fee on the Edexcel Assured Diploma in Human Resource Management programme.
Furthermore, the remaining fees can be paid in 18 instalments to reduce the financial burden of the students. Undergraduates or graduates from any stream of study are eligible to apply for the concessionary facilities. It is a proven fact that accounting, HR and IT qualifications have enhanced the employment potential of graduates. However, this is the first time that a professional institute has launched concessionary scheme to benefit undergraduates or unemployed graduates.
These concessionary terms are applicable for the recently launched Direct Diploma qualification. The new HRMI diploma does not consist of any stages such as the preliminary, foundation or certificate courses. Instead students directly undergo an 18-month comprehensive diploma, which also saves time and money from a student perspective.
These developments were initiated in consequence to a survey done amongst young HR learners and practicing professionals which reflected a need for a reengineered approach to the structure and content of HR learning.
In the new qualification, instead of the sequential learning process, a comprehensive and an in-depth qualification has been introduced, which will not only contain learning on modern HR applications but also eliminate the unproductive repetitions of the same learning that existed in different stages.
With a minimum of GCE Advanced Level, students have an opportunity of directly enrolling themselves in the Edexcel Assured Diploma in Human Resource Management programme. This Diploma Assured by Edexcel UK involves a content of 40 topics – comprehensively covered over 400 hours of teaching, far exceeding the coverage of comparable professional qualifications. The modules include management, human resource management, organisational behaviour, industrial psychology, industrial relations and a research project.
This will be the only internationally recognized and globally respected HRM diploma available in Sri Lanka – certified and quality assured by the world’s largest qualification awarding authority – Edexcel UK. Edexcel Assured signifies that the academic standards, assessment systems, syllabus content, teaching methodology and ethical practices are all in conformance to the highest international standards.
After two years of completion of the Diploma in HRM, students can progress to pursue a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, the ultimate qualification in business management. An ambitious student could complete the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree within two years. The MBA is awarded by University of Derby, highly respected British university currently ranked number 37 by the Guardian, UK for management and marketing studies. The Derby MBA is amongst the top three MBAs available in Sri Lanka from the UK universities.
