Sri Lankan brand development consultant Michel Nugawela has been invited to address the upcoming International Leadership Symposium on Ethics in Business to be held on November 21, 2015, at the European Parliament in Brussels.
The theme of the conference is ‘The double bottom line – How rich we really are’. The invitation was extended to Nugawela by Professor Ruud Lubbers – former Prime Minister of the Netherlands and Head, Advisory Board, World Forum for Ethics in Business, and Nirj Deva - Member of European Parliament and Member of the Board, World Forum for Ethics in Business.
Nugawela brings over two decades of senior level corporate consulting in brand strategy and brand identity development with related specialization in brand engagement and change strategies across newly repositioned organisations. He has branded and repositioned many of Sri Lanka’s most renowned and respected brands, including Aitken Spence PLC, Hayleys PLC, Dipped Products PLC, Nations Trust Bank PLC, Heritance Hotels & Resorts, Lion Lager, Elephant House and Carson Cumberbatch PLC’s regional palm oil businesses in Indonesia, Malaysia,
Singapore and India.
In May 2015, Nugawela introduced leadership archetyping, a disruptive Jungian psychological approach to individuation and leadership that is able to significantly enhance and transform executive and team performance by connecting cognitive functions with the unconscious mind. This was followed shortly thereafter with the launch of a suite of archetyping products that enable organisations to identify and align fundamental human motivations and meanings within the workplace to achieve higher levels of productivity and performance, as well as the spectrum of consumer values and goals that are found across the categories and segments brands compete within.
In August, CIMA Sri Lanka and the Association of Human Resource Professionals (HRP) entered into a joint partnership with Nugawela to co-brand, market and conduct leadership archetyping programmes to their corporate membership.
The International Leadership Symposium, organised by the World Forum for Ethics in Business in partnership with The World Bank, Eurochambres and the International Association for Human Values, is an annual event which brings together prominent leaders from business, politics, academia and civil society to dialogue on the pressing need to strengthen human values and ethics in business. Over the past 11 years, Nobel laureates, political leaders and top executives from global companies such as Microsoft, Coca Cola, Infosys, ING Bank, GMR Group, Daimler, IKEA, Novartis, Unilever, Robert Bosch GmbH, Siemens and Tata have participated in this important event.
This year’s conference will provide a unique global platform to explore sustainable business and showcase inspirational examples that can be scaled up for global impact. In addition, it will present best practice case studies of initiatives that foster sustainable, long-term growth and development with individual wellbeing at the core of their business operations. It will also raise the question of how we define and measure wellbeing and look into different aspects of mental health.
