Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) launched its Human Resource (HR) certification programme, which would be the first of its kind in Sri Lanka.
Speaking at the launch, SHRM India CEO Achal Khanna said that SHRM aspires to provide working professionals a comprehensive understanding of human resource management (HRM). “This flagship course would certainly help HR professionals in Sri Lanka to evolve on their respective domains and become a valuable asset to their organisation.”
The new SHRM credentials, SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) are based on the latest HR research and emerging knowledge of HR professionals. The SHRM Competency Model, an important foundation of the new certification, reflects the combined input from major corporations and universities including Walmart, Boeing, Michigan State University and Lake-Washington Human Resource Association SHRM Chapter with over 33,000 members of the HR profession from 33 countries.
This certification is clearly focused on the competencies and knowledge all HR professionals need to lead in today’s business community.
The launch was also attended by HRP President L. Chiranthi Cooray and a host of other senior HR leaders.
