Acer introduces Intel 8th gen CPU and expanded Windows 10 portfolio

Acer introduced and launched Intel’s 8th Generation CPU based notebooks, along with new additions to its portfolio of Windows 10 devices: Aspire E5, Swift 3, Spin 5, Swift 5 and Switch 7 Black Edition to the Sri Lankan market.


Founded in 1976, Acer is now one of the top ICT companies around the world. Today, the company is headed by Chairman/CEO Jason Chen. Stan Shih, Co-Founder of Acer, although stepped down from Chairmanship, remains as an Honorary Chairman of Acer.
The 8th Generation Intel Core processors along with the additions to the portfolio were unveiled at the launch event that took place on 14th September, at The Hilton, Colombo. The event featured a few entertaining performances to grace the launch of the new generation of Intel processors and Acer devices.


Speaking at the event, Acer Computers Singapore Sales General Manager Sunil Nair said: “Just like last year, Acer is once again holding Sri Lanka very close to our hearts. We are the fastest to market and the first to launch the latest technology in countries such as Sri Lanka, which usually does not fall in the map in the technology world, so we are really proud and privileged to be the first company to launch the latest products, which is the 8th Generation based products into Sri Lanka.”


Focusing on the new additions to Acer’s portfolio of Windows 10 devices, the Aspire E5, Swift 3, Spin 5, Swift 5 and Switch 7 Black Edition, all are equipped with the latest 8th Generation processors, with multiple dimensions in screen size and ultra-slim convertible and detachable availabilities in some device versions. Graphics capabilities differ in the devices, ranging from mastering casual gaming to becoming an expert designer with the use of the stylus in selected devices, and even to be used in day-to-day activities without a hassle. The Switch 7 Black Edition in specific is the world’s first fanless two-in-one notebook with discreet graphics made possible by Acer’s innovative Dual LiquidLoop fanless cooling technology.


Sunil Nair went on to say: “I would also like to thank our partner community Abans, Metropolitan and Softlogic.
