Lenovo launches three VIBE smartphone models in Sri Lanka

Lenovo, headquartered in China, along with its local distributor Abans PLC, launched three models of its VIBE smartphone series in Sri Lanka recently.


The products that were launched included, Lenovo VIBE K5 Note, Lenovo VIBE C and Lenovo A6600.
The specialty of these products is their budget-friendliness.
Abans PLC Deputy Director, Dinesh Perera said that out the three smartphones, the high-end product is the Lenovo VIBE K5 Note which has unique features. 
It is available in platinum silver, champagne gold and graphite grey and offers 5.5’ Full HD wide view IPS screen which possess 16 million reproducible colours and an ultra-wide 178’ viewing angle.
Providing a cinematic experience, he said that for the first time in the country they are providing Virtual Reality (VR) glasses along with the smartphone. 
The Lenovo VIBE C, features a large and vibrant 5” display, 4G LTE connectivity, and a powerful quad-core processor, according to the company.
The Lenovo A6660 is powered by a 64-bit quad-cored 1.0 Ghz processor and features Dual SIM slots with 4G LTE connectivity, 16 GB built-in storage and 5.0 IPS HD display.  In addition to that it also hosts the innovative Android 6.0 Marshmallow as system software.
Perera said since its launch in Sri Lanka a year back, it has received good response up to this point and they are looking forward to introduce more models to the Sri Lankan market. 
He told Mirror Business that at the moment being number seven, they are looking forward to be the number two brand in Sri Lanka by 2018 and number one in 2020. He also said that it is the number five brand globally, and number two in India taking over Micromax and Apple.
He added that they have planned promotional campaigns and will announce promotions for the upcoming Christmas season by November 15th.


He said that they are confident that with Lenovo being the largest PC manufacturer, they would bring in more investment in to the mobile phone brand too.
The price range of the phone as noted were Rs.14,900 - Rs. 36,900, which will be available in all Abans and Abans Elite showrooms.

Perera noted that in Sri Lanka, Lenovo sells only PCs, tablets, and smartphones.
