Matchstix, Sri Lanka’s new smartphone app is set to light up the social networking landscape by allowing hundreds and thousands of Sri Lankans to establish new friendships and connections.  The Matchstix app was officially introduced to the Sri Lankan market at the grand “Ignite the Spark” Launch Party held at Park Street Mews recently, attracting fans, users, socialites, celebrities and VIP guests.

The free Matchstix app allows registered users to link to interesting people by matching similar interests and locations. Once signed in, Matchstix uses advanced location-based software with GPS-positioning to locate similar people in a given geographical location. The app is available in both English and Sinhala languages and as Android and iOS versions, thereby enabling it to reach out to a wider audience across the island.

To sign up on the app, users only require an active SIM card, a smartphone and a Facebook account. They can download the app, install it and register to start making connections. After setting a few personal preferences, users are quickly able to discover fellow Matchstix users with similar interests in the nearby areas, allowing them to reach out to them through the app and build new connections.
