SLT Mobitel mCash celebrates second anniversary

The national mobile service provider SLT Mobitel’s mobile money platform, mCash, which has redefined the way consumers carry out transactions with the use of a mobile phone, recently celebrated its second anniversary.
SLT Mobitel mCash experienced immense growth over the last two years with a large clientele and growing customer base that continues to expand countrywide. In lieu of this milestone, SLT Mobitel had an awards ceremony to recognize mCash retailers, distributors and sales staff for outstanding performance during the year 2015. The awards ceremony was held under the theme ‘mCash Infinity Awards 2015’, where a total of more than 150 awards were given out. 

At the event, SLT Mobitel launched inter-operability of mCash with Etisalat Lanka. This service allows Etisalat customers to use the mCash service like any Mobitel customer through their mobile phones, giving them access to all services provided by mCash to a larger customer base in the country.

SLT Mobitel also announced the partnership with Hatton National Bank for MoneyGram remittances, which enables Sri Lankans to obtain foreign remittances transferred via MoneyGram at any Mobitel of the branches countrywide.
