Huawei announced that it has successfully sold over 10,000 units of the new mid-range smartphones Honor G Play, Honor 4X and Honor 6 Plus within a span of only 7 days in Sri Lanka. According to industry statistics Huawei together with its exclusive national distributor Singer Sri Lanka was able to achieve this milestone simply because the new Honor range was unique and catered to the mid-market with features on par with high-end smartphones.
During the launch ceremony in Colombo, Huawei positioned the product for the discerningly bold, challenging the spirit of an individual and helping them to “be who you are, and not who the world wants you to be”. Since its launch in May 2014 Huawei’s mid-range smartphone family including, Honor 3C and Honor Holly has so far sold over 55,000 units in Sri Lanka. With the introduction of the G Play, 4X and 6 Plus it is expected these numbers to triple in sales volume over FY15.
Huawei Device Sri Lanka Country Head Henry Liu said, “We are thrilled with these new statistics and even happier to see how well the local consumers have embraced the best technology, best product for the best price and best service. All Honor devices share three basic DNA qualities: smart image technology, long battery life and remarkable craft. This is a perfect match with the lifestyle of the discerningly bold.”
Speaking further Huawei Sri Lanka Marketing Manager Stanley Mascarenhas said, “We invite all our customers to visit any of the Huawei outlets islandwide to pre-order and gain first-hand experience of the new Honor smartphone range.”
Huawei is currently the number two smartphone brand in Sri Lanka and is set to become the island’s number one smartphone brand within the next few quarters. Huawei is marketed by Sri Lanka’s number one brand, Singer Sri Lanka.
