The elevated area lying between the Life line and the Mount of Venus is called the Lower Mount of Mars.

We have already discussed in a separate article the Mount of Upper Mars which is located between the heart Line and Head line along the percussion above the Mount of Moon and below the Mount of Mercury.

What both Mounts represent 

The Lower Mount of Mars is called the Lower Mount because it lies below the Head line.  The Lower Mount of Mars just like the Upper Mount represents courage, self-control, resolution and the capability to command. 

Martians – two kinds

Those with prominent Mounts of Mars are called Martians. In fact, the lower mount and the upper mount represent the division of Martian qualities. 

There are two kinds of fighters. One kind of fighters are aggressive and force the issue.  And the other kind of fighters act purely on the defence. 

The Upper Mount of Mars represents the resistive power and the lower one the aggressive power.  This means when both these Mounts are prominent the subject would have both resistive power and aggressive power.

People with prominent Mounts of Mars are brave.  They are very firm and cannot be subdued. When the Mounts of Mars are not conspicuous, the subject could be called a coward. 

Positive qualities

Martians do not tolerate injustice in life.  They reach a high position either in Police or in an armed force.  They possess leadership qualities and inborn capability for administration. 
Martians are ambitious and pursue high goals in life. 

Martians are generous and are fond of forming friendships.  They are firm and resolute but are amenable to reason.

Physical features 

The stature of the Martian is above the average. The face is round. The hair is short, crisp and curly.  He has bright, large and daring eyes.

Negative qualities 

There is a bad type of Martian as well.

He is a cruel, lascivious drunkard and a criminal.

Locational peculiarities

If the Mount leans towards the Mount of Venus, the subject gains power of endurance through affection.  If it leans towards the Mount of Jupiter, he gains endurance through pride.  If the Mount leans towards the Thumb, he gains power of endurance through sheer will.
