Undoubtedly, the talk amongst most people is about the booster, second, vaccine of the AstraZeneca Brand.  Over six hundred thousand are eagerly waiting for this second jab which is supposed to be taken within twelve weeks. Twelve weeks have passed for many and the anxiety is unimaginable, especially for those who must leave their homes and travel in public transport or are stuck in working establishments with central air conditioning where a window cannot be opened in many of these buildings. Many promises are being made about getting the required number of vaccines but there seems to be no silver lining in this dark cloud we are all under.

The virus is spreading like wildfire.  All of us know at least one or more persons who have caught the virus as well as one who has passed away. It is an unnerving situation and a time of anxiety for the hundreds and thousands who have not yet received the booster or follow up vaccine. What would be great is if a physician who is an authority on vaccines informs the public of the next possible solution.

Parents are also thinking of the future of their children who have been home-schooling for the past year with a few odd days at school.  Many parents are having nightmares anticipating the resultant psychological and social issues that they will have to contend with by not having their children interacting with others.

It is unbelievable that many are still breaking the law and are yet trying to have parties and get togethers in the middle of this pandemic.  Fortunately, the Forces are on the look out and are taking appropriate action against such offenders

Another issue is the number of organisations that distribute news alerts via media applications.  At most times, the first alert is contradicted by a second alert a few hours later, confusing people further. It would be good to have the day’s news items collated and announced to the public via radio and TV at an agreed time every day.  This way, the public will ensure that they tune in and be updated with the happenings.
