Well known film producer and director Sunil Aruna Weerasiri in a historic move, is donating all income generated from the screening of the movie ‘Vishama Bhaga’ in his Kiribathgoda Aruna Cinema, towards the fund aimed at eradicating kidney disease in the country.

All deeds done with good intentions will yield good results. Large crowds are now patronizing our cinema hall to watch  the film

“In fact it is my son Pramod Weerasiri who proposed the move and I was highly impressed by his attitude, especially as a youngster. As believers of nature, we know that all deeds done with good intentions will yield good results. Large crowds are now patronizing our cinema hall to watch Vishama Bhaga, and that is an encouraging sign. I appreciate my son’s vision. In fact there is no national level solution to eradicate chronic kidney disease in our country. The Shraddha Buddhist Channel which produced this movie is carrying out a national programme to eradicate kidney disease. Though it is a Buddhist channel, its mission is aimed at curing and serving all human beings irrespective of race or religious bias. This is my vision too. We should always strive to serve the human community in general,” said Sunil Aruna Weerasiri.
