Upon entering, we were greeted by the warm smiles of the staff, who were committed to ensuring our experience was enjoyable. To begin our culinary journey through Indian cuisine, we started with the ‘Ratputana Murg Soola,’ a dish of charcoal-roasted chicken kebab seasoned with a variety of Indian spices. The aroma of the spices combined with the smoky flavour of the charcoal was delightful, and the tender texture of the meat melted on our tongues. For a refreshing beverage, we opted for the Gulaab Gully, a sweet concoction of rose, watermelon, and mint, which instantly cooled our palates. Accompanying our meal was a serving of Chur Chur Paratha, a crispy, flaky, and hand-crushed paratha. Every bite at Bombay Borough promises a dining experience filled with uniquely seasoned flavours.

The highlight of our dining experience was the introduction of the Dabbas to the menu. These offerings pay homage to India’s regional cuisines, with four options available, representing culinary traditions from various regions. The term ‘Dabba’ originates from the word ‘Dabbawala,’ referring to individuals involved in a lunch delivery service using tiffin boxes, dating back to 1890. We opted for the Punjabi Dabba, our taste buds excited for what was to come. We started with the Chaatwala, a street-food dish bursting with vegetables, chutneys, and spices. The dish was light yet flavourful, preparing us for the hearty servings of street-style chicken and Tikka Kebab Biryani that followed. Despite the richness of these dishes, our appetites were quickly satisfied.
Desserts at Bombay Borough are truly exceptional. A personal favourite, the Kaapi Rasgulla, impressed with its combination of salted caramel ice cream and cocoa crunch. The subtle hints of coffee added a unique touch to the dessert, reminiscent of Gulab Jamun but with a balanced sweetness. Following this was the Bombay Ice Cream Sandwich, a nostalgic treat reminiscent of childhood indulgences. While enjoyable, it paled in comparison to the standout Kaapi Rasgulla, yet its generous portion size made it a satisfying conclusion to the meal.
Dining at Bombay Borough is more than just a meal—it’s an experience that transcends the boundaries of taste and culture, uniting diners in a shared appreciation for the rich tapestry of flavours that define Indian cuisine. So come, indulge your senses and savour the flavours of India at Bombay Borough, where every meal is a celebration of culinary excellence.
