Multi-talented new generation artiste Dilshara Sathsarani is showcasing her talents as a gifted singer, dancer and actress. The passionate girl who started refining her talents as a little schoolgirl in Anuradhapura is now based in Colombo engaged in sparkling missions in the field of music, dancing and acting while sharing her experience with budding art lovers.

Today she is also a vocalist in the orchestra of Visharada Manoj Peiris, displaying her multiple range as a singer. “I was able to sing and dance from my early childhood. I believe that trait came from my lineage. My mother and father and their families can sing and dance. So are my brother and sister. This would have inspired me from my early childhood. I participated in music and dancing in all-island competitions winning many prizes. I love music and dancing equally and never see a difference in them. My childhood ambition was also to become a musician or dancer,” said Dilshara who became a household name with Dream Star Season 9 in which she emerged among the final 24. Dilshara started her acting career with the mini series titled ‘Agosha’ directed by Dileepa Jayakody. It is accessible on you tube too.

“The ‘Agosha’ mini series is special to me because it opened doors in the acting sphere and I also sang its theme song. I am glad people started recognising my acting talents after ‘Agosha’ and I was offered several acting offers after that. But since I am confident of my skills, I am looking for opportunities that could really bring out the best of me in terms of good characters. I just don’t want to appear for the sake of showing my face. I will not hesitate to accept roles of substance, especially women-centric roles. It is tragic that in our country we hardly see women-centric roles in films or tele dramas. I am also looking forward to release my newest song in the near future,” said the multi-faceted girl who expressed gratitude to her mother, father, family members, sister and brother in addition to all her teachers, well wishers in Anuradhapura and Colombo including Visharada Manoj Peiris.
