Weekends are all about fun and festivity.  After strenuous work schedules during the week, people in the city are on the lookout for opportunities to rejuvenate themselves before another hectic week. Hence an event for everyone to celebrate and have fun with friends and family would be just ideal. The Past Pupils’ Association and the Oriental Dance Society of Bishop’s College took the initiative to organise the event ‘Festival of Colours’. 


Festival of Colours is inspired by the traditional Indian Holi Festival which began thousands of years ago. It symbolises  the victory of good over evil. The celebration of Holi with Colours and Water is known as Rangwali Holi.The Festival of Colours is an eagerly awaited public event that brings the joyous spirit of Holi to life. With a perfect blend of colourful revelry, mouth-watering food stalls, and lively Bollywood music, this event promises a memorable experience for everyone. It will take place on the 24th of June at the Bishop's College Grounds, from 9am to 3pm. One of the  highlights of the Festival of Colours is the diverse range of food stalls that offer a tantalising culinary experience. From traditional Indian delicacies to mouth-watering street food, the festival caters to every palate. Indulge in the aromatic flavours of freshly prepared Kebabs, tangy Chaat, Masala Chai, Bombay Biriyani and delectable sweets. The festival provides an opportunity to savour the rich and diverse cuisine, taking your taste buds on a delightful journey.


A wide array of food choices will be on offer, including both traditional Indian delicacies and popular international dishes like pizza, tacos, sushi, and numerous other options.
If you have a passion for collecting cacti, a sweet tooth for candies, or a fondness  for Indian jewellery, this event is for you. 
No celebration is complete without music, and the Festival of Colours is no exception. Get ready to groove to the energetic beats of Bollywood music that will keep you on your feet throughout the event. The talented DJ and their very own Oriental Dance Troupe will create a lively ambience, ensuring that there's never a dull moment. Let the rhythm take over as you dance, sing, and celebrate the vibrant spirit of the festival.
