Food for Thought, Fashion with a difference, Gourmet Cuisine.... International Women’s Day

Interbrand in association with the Daily FT concluded their International Women’s Day [ IWD ] 2023 – , focusing on the themes DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality and #EmbraceEquity , at a gala forum on 7 th April at the Oak Room of Cinnamon Grand Colombo, commencing 7 pm. A stellar line up of speakers, the crème de la crème of Sri Lanka’s entertainment, a galaxy of young professionals who walked the ramp on the theme of Embracing Equity, gourmet food and choice wines, scintillating entertainment, a tightly knit production, and not forgetting the record number of male attendees, made the night, one to remember and emulate.

Interbrand is the world’s leading brand consultancy, specializing in brands and branding management, with 24 offices in 17 countries. The New York-based consultancy publishes the Best Global Brands report on an annual basis which identifies the world's 100 most valuable brands.

Once again, the strategic partner for this gala event was Mastercard, who came forward to reiterate their commitment to women and IWD activities as they have done so in the past, while Corporate sponsors Triumph Sloggi were back again as partners, as were Supreme Flora. New comers Serenia Limited , a mixed development Apartment Hotel and Link Naturals added to the glamour and allure of the event, while the Host Hotel once again was the best address in town, the Cinnamon Grand.

The keynote speech was made by Dr Nathalie de Dieuleveult, Managing Director in Sri Lanka and Maldives of B. Braun Lanka, a German multinational and one of the world’s largest medical and pharmaceutical device companies. Luxury door gifts were provided by Sothys and Triumph Sloggi , with gifts for the entrance ticket draw being a sari from Kavita Thulasidas by Stylemart, two premium gift vouchers from the Sothys Estheti Centre, a pair of earrings from Soraya Jewellery, a pair of earrings from Sifani Jewellers, a voucher for Rs 25,000 from Avirate and a voucher for Rs 20,000 from Selyn Handlooms, as well as a box of chocolates from the Cinnamon Grand, ensured that those present had all they could ask for and more! Selyn Handlooms also provided gifts for the 24 ramp walkers , while Triumph Sloggi presented the seven panelists with a custom made gift.

Tanuja Perera and En Route provided the music for the evening while Tarja de Silva and partner Bharatha held the audience spellbound with their beautiful dance performance. All in all the Interbrand Daily FT, IWD 2023 celebration was indeed a night to remember
