I always wonder whether a Grumbler is born that way or whether we become Grumblers owing to our circumstances. There are many amongst us whose entire life is spent grumbling or moaning. It seems to be their theme. I have an acquaintance, who is commonly referred to as Mona as she constantly moans about one thing or another. Mona is not pleasant to meet up or keep company with owing to this unpleasant disposition.
We all have problems. It is how we face and deal with them that is our issue. Unfortunately, Mona does not have a bright outlook on life even though she is quite comfortable financially; all her life is groaning and moaning. Her negativity is such a downer when you meet her. Trixie, who had met her once, felt that if Mona were to find a partner it may make her a better person. Then, again, with her permanent negativity it is a very rare person who would want to have any form of relationship with her. Recently, she has registered herself on several social media platforms under a pseudonym and has taken to attacking everyone and everything. She cannot bear seeing people having a good time. She has issues about everything and expresses her slanderous opinions on social media, whether it is related to personal, general or political topics. Mona loves to talk of the starving populations whilst scoffing some cream buns and washing them down with an alcohol laced iced coffee.
Her pursuit of being a keyboard warrior to the poverty stricken is ongoing. All this, whilst she is well known for her lack of charitable thoughts and giving. People like Mona must be avoided if we wish to remain sane. She is such a downer who steals good energy away from you.
Doing all of this, however, does not mean maligning other people, being envious or condemning those who have the means to spend and enjoy life.
Trixie quoted to me something she read recently: ‘we are all not born with silver spoons, we are not hustling to impress or to be in any competition with anyone. We would all like to change our story line, give our families a better life, build for the future and fight battles which our forefathers did not win.’ Doing all of this, however, does not mean maligning other people, being envious or condemning those who have the means to spend and enjoy life. It does not make the world or you a better person. Just strive to have a better tomorrow than being a perpetual, bitter grumbler.
