Safeer turns film director

Veteran theatre practitioner and lecturer M. Safeer who has received local and international awards is for the first time donning the role of film director with the movie ‘Mama Nemei’ (Hereafter bygone). 


The shooting schedule has already begun with veteran artistes Dilhani Ashokamala and Sanjeewa Upendra appearing in this cinematic experience. Suran Bopitiya is the Director of Photography and the Line producer is M. Shafraz.  W. Jayasundara is the Production Manager, Keshan Sethunga is the Assistant Director, still Photography by Thilak Perera, Music by Dumindu Kadigamuwa and Sujeewa Pathinisekera is the Executive Producer.


The screenplay, costumes and direction is by M. Safeer. The Inter Act Art production is produced by Mahil Madusanka, Tharindu Illeperuma, Sampath Rajapaksha, Nirosh Kaviratne and Sujeewa Pathinisekara.
The story moves across 30 cities, 15 districts and 1500 kms travelling based on nostalgia, with the man and woman having unique stories of the past to tell us. Their tales will also have bits and pieces of our life stories too, Safeer who hopes to get the film released soon.
