Spotlight on Tissa

Tourism in Ruhuna (TIR) – the brainchild of veteran national tour guide lecturer Jayadeva Sudusinghe - aimed at promoting tourism in Ruhuna and making Tissamaharama a tourism hub in the South, has conceptualized a special event in Tissamaharama starting on September 26 to mark World Tourism Day.
Besides stalls selling handicraft, food items unique to Tissa, a series of awareness programmes will also be held during this event. TIR’s objective is to promote domestic and international tourism and spread this positive message to the world.
