Staying Indoors

As most of us are now adhering to the law and staying indoors owing to another wave of the virus hitting us, not only in our country but in most parts of the world, we must find ways to keep ourselves occupied. Whilst many seem to find ways, most cannot wrap their head round the fact that they are expected to stay at home. This is very apparent when you read of the number of people who have been arrested having broken the law by loafing about the city.

Many find things to do around their homes, clearing cupboards out, resurrecting their hobbies that had been chucked aside owing to never being at home and finding all sorts of places to roam to. Others experiment or enjoy cooking, which has the added benefit of relaxing them and feeding the household at the same time.  The sad part is that most of the daily paid workers are finding it difficult to make ends meet. Fortunately, there are some who help them despite not turning up for work. There also are many people helping in ways they can and that certainly is a wonderful gesture.

I am surprised though that some of the more educated people still want to have get-togethers and meet up, forgetting that the best place to be is at home as that is the only way to stop the virus from spreading.

With the alcohol ban there must be many desperate people who will either resort to domestic violence or resort to suicide as they are so dependent on it. On the other side, there are many people, especially the medical staff, the Forces and the municipal workers, working tirelessly to get this situation under control. Our contribution is adhering to the request of staying indoors, which we all must endeavour to do and hopefully the pandemic will be controlled and our lives get back to some form of normalcy.
