Tsunami set to make waves at Bayelsa Int’l Film Festival

Popular Sri Lankan movie ‘Tsunami’ directed by Dr. Somaratne Dissanayake and produced by Renuka Balasuriya is all set to vie for major honours at the upcoming Bayelsa International Film Festival (BIFF). The movie has been nominated in seven of the 14 categories at the festival due to be held next month.

Dr. Somaratne Dissanayake has been nominated for the best director’s award, Producer Renuka Balasuriya has been nominated for the best film award, Vishwa Balasuriya for best cinematography, Niranjani Shanmugarajah for the best actress, Darshan Dharmaraj for the best actor, Bimal Jayakody for the best supporting actor and Menara Weeratunga for the best child artiste.

 

 


In addition, Himali Sayurangi has been nominated for Bayelsa International Film Festival’s Viewers Choice Award as Best Actress. This means that the nominee can only emerge winner through audience votes. Voting has already commenced and will end by September 30, 2020.
