‘Yathra’ competes at Nepal International Film Fest Movie has already won six international awards

Christy Shelton Fernando’s newest movie ‘Yathra’ (The Voyage) has been chosen to be screened in the main competition section from May 6 to 10 at the 4th Nepal International Film in Kathmandu. The movie will be in the fray with several other films representing various countries.

‘Yathra’ which has already won several international awards has been produced by Sriyani Amarasena and Ruwan Jayasinghe while Lilani Perera and Niranjala Sarojini have chipped in as co producers.


Yathra won the award for the best narrative feature film at the DRUK international Film Festival,  and Calcutta International Film Festival, best film award at the Festigious Film Festival in Los Angeles, best film award at the Madras International Film Fest, while the film’s director of Photography Ayeshmantha Hettiarachchi won the award for the best cinematography at Russia’s Euro Asia International Film Festival.


The film scripted by Aruna Jayawardana features Sriyani Amarasena, Senali Fonseka, Lakshman Mendis, Cletus Mendis, Saranga Dissanayake, Sriyantha Mendis, Pabodha Sandeepani, Roshan Pilapitiya and others.
Navaratne Gamage has directed the music, Ayeshmantha Hettiarachchi the cinematography, Suneth Nandalal the art direction, Megha Colombage the editing, Indika Udara the make up while Ajith Liyanage is the assistant director.
