Hashtag Jeans, a vibrant and dynamic Sri Lankan clothing brand, launched its inaugural collection.
Sri Lanka’s latest clothing brand celebrates the unconventional and avant-garde Sri Lankan, who is breaking barriers, defying norms and stereotypes and forging their own paths. Hashtag Jeans steps away from conventional clothing, creating apparel that allows the wearer to be comfortable in their own skin, embracing their true, raw self.
The locally manufactured brand centres on casual wear and is designed with a sharp eye on comfort, meticulous fit and quality. A well-received social media campaign revolving around the brand theme was launched last month as a teaser and to start a conversation around ‘Being Me’, engaging in an exploration of modern Sri Lankan identity and to find out what it means to embrace one’s passions without worry of judgement.
“Hashtag Jeans is more than just clothing. Hashtag is setting out to explore what it means to be a modern Sri Lankan and goes beyond mere apparel. It’s a celebration of ‘Being Me’ and the unique, idiosyncratic Sri Lankan who is daring to break stereotypes and is stepping out of their comfort zones,” explained Hashtag Jeans Managing Director
Thushya Shah.
“Our range of jeans is designed to complement the lifestyle and changing identity of the upcoming generation of Sri Lankans who are poised to be the movers and shakers of the country, opting for the roads less travelled. It allows them to be who they are and take on life in their own terms, instead of being boxed in and following the tide. It’s also a product which is designed especially for Sri Lankans – all Hashtag Jeans are manufactured locally and meticulously crafted especially to suit varying body shapes and changing lifestyles. Quality takes precedence in production and each pair is carefully hand-checked during production,”
she noted.
In line with its messaging, the brand’s frontrunners are emerging names and unconventional individuals who have dared to shatter stereotypes and defy norms in their respective fields. Front runners for Hashtag Jeans include passionate drummer Maria Soysa, aeronautical engineer Stephanie Kinson, rapper Rayvian Floyd Driyon, professional dancer Kapila Palihadawa and professional cliff jumper Henawalage Asanka.
“‘Being Me’ is a journey we are undertaking to find out what it means to be daring, to be adventurous, to be undefinable and to be original. Hashtag Jeans is a sartorial articulation of the bold, avant-garde Sri Lankan creating their own identities, unafraid of any judgement,” concluded Shah.
Hashtag Jeans can be purchased online at hashtagjeans.com. The brand offers free islandwide delivery and cash on delivery options for ease of access to their customers. Another notable differentiator is the launch of a 24/7 Whatsapp customer support team to assist customers in choosing a pair of jeans which best suits their size and shape. Hashtag Jeans also retails around the country and are available for purchase at Cotton Collection, Cool Planet, Beverly Street, RV Fashion, Great Selection, Inter Fashion, Rich Look and Bandula Sales Centre.
