Chandrika wewa in Embilipitiya spills over

Spillover of the Chandrika wewa in Embilipitiya has become tourist attraction ,although several families have been displaced due to the flood threat triggered by it.   

The low-lying areas beyond Kiralawelkaruwa bridge had gone under water and  displaced families have been provided shelter at the  Chandrika wewa temple.   

Meanwhile, hundreds of tourists flocked to see the lovely and attractive sight of the overflow, many of them, to enjoy a bath or to engage in water sports. Among them are young men who take a risk by riding on motorcycles across the floods .
