Commemorating the ‘Father of the Nation’

A commemoration ceremony in view of the 71st death anniversary of Don Stephen Senanayake, popularly acclaimed as the Father of the Nation was held at the Independence Square yesterday. The event was graced by the presence of President Ranil Wickremesinghe. Colombo Mayoress Rosy Senanayake and UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene garlanded the statue.
