Heroin valued more than Rs. 130 million seized

A stock of 6.210 kilos of heroin was seized and a suspect was arrested by Tangalle Crime Investigation Unit.  

He was arrested on information provided by a young man arrested by the police for possessing 40grams of heroin during a raid in Ambalantota town.  

Police carried out a raid on the main racketeer’s house in the Kesbewa area and recovered a stock of 6.210 kilos of heroin.  

However, another two suspects had fled from the scene during the raid and escaped arrest. Police said the absconding suspects from Panamura area had already been identified and that they would be arrested soon.
