Padayatra pilgrims to Kataragama

The first group of “Padayatra” pilgrims from the upcountry journeying on foot to Kataragama to attend the Esala festival on July 29 set off from Samimalai in Maskeliya last morning.

They will be making the long trek for eleven days through Hatton, Thalawakele, Nuwara Eliya, Wellawaya to reach Kataragama on July 29.
