Sri Lanka’s first Prime Minister commemorated

A ceremony was held at Independence Square to mark the 72nd death anniversary of Sri Lanka’s first Prime Minister, late D. S. Senanayake yesterday. UNP Deputy Leader and Presidential Adviser Ruwan Wijewardene, Former Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, Venerable Bandarawala Wimaladhamma Thera, university dons and school children participated in the ceremony. Mr. Wijewardene is seen garlanding the statue of the Late Prime Minister during the ceremony.
