The immune system is the body’s protection against harmful substances such as bacteria, viruses, toxins and chemicals.
In some individuals the immune system which gives rise to autoimmune antibodies cannot identify the difference between healthy harmless tissue cells and harmful substances. As a result such antibodies attack and destroy the normal tissues thus producing an autoimmune disease.
This malfunctioning may be due to bacteria, viruses, drugs, chemical irritants or environmental irritants.
There are more than 80 autoimmune diseases. These diseases often run in families and are more common in women.
Early symptoms that are common to all autoimmune diseases are fatigue, muscle aches, low grade fever, and inflammation. When there is inflammation redness, heat pain and swelling are present.
Of the over 80 autoimmune diseases, the most common are
01. Psoriasis and Psoriatic arthritis.
02. Rheumatoid arthritis
03. Diabetes type I
04. Alopecia areata
05. Celiac disease

Autoimmune diseases are diagnosed by
Autoimmune diseases come from the gut and treatments are aimed at the gut. The disease will subside with the conventional allopathic or Ayurvedic treatments, but will not get cured.
Autoimmune diseases are considered as lifelong diseases, with flare-ups and remissions.
During flare-ups the symptoms get worse, but the severety can be reduced with changing of lifestyle and allopathic or Ayurvedic treatment.
Symptoms disappear during periods of remissions even though there is no treatment. These periods of remissions last for a few weeks or months.
Patients are illusioned, thinking they are cured by the treatment, until the next flare-up occurs. That is when they lose their faith in the treatment and they
are confused.

Flare-ups are controlled and the severity of attack are reduced by living a healthy lifestyle, eating a balanced diet, reducing stress and getting plenty of rest.
Conventional medications include non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) and immune suppressive medications such as Prednisolone
and dexamethazone.
Avoiding any known causes of flare ups such as certain foods.
Physical therapy
Hormone replacement can be done if necessary.
Blood transfusions are conducted in cases when blood is affected. (eg: SLE)
Although autoimmune diseases are considered to be lifelong diseases, yet, some of these can be completely cured. Then there will be no flare ups and remissions thus ending the agony of a long struggle.
This complete cure is possible with
(1) Detoxification which is carried out for two to three months by oral detoxifiers that are given to detoxify the whole body by removing the toxins and self destructive auto antibodies. Most of the toxins are removed in the faeces.
(2) Detoxification carried out by giving 3 litres of liquid orally and removing the toxins in urine and sweat with the help of medicated steam. Steam bath will last for 11/2 hours
(3) Preserving the beneficial bacteria in the gut. This is done using mainly plant extracts and minerals. With this treatment further damage can be prevented, but, it is not possible to do much about any permanent damage that is there already.
Many patients with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis are cured completely. Some patients who came to us with psoriasis had suffered for over
30 years.
A Doctor who graduated from Faculty of medicine Colombo in 1975 had suffered for 47 years from generalized psoriasis. He had taken treatment from all possible sources continuously and that kept the flare ups at a low level. Psoriasis led to his early retirement from government service. With the detoxification and the treatment given from this medical centre his symptoms and signs of psoriasis disappeared within two months.
At the age of 70 he got rid of wrinkles, and fatigue. Scales and skin irritation disappeared. Appearance improved day by day and he began a new life.
Now, he is working at a leading private hospital in Colombo.
There are no adverse effects of the treatment given except that in a few patients there can be an increase in appetite and mild diarrhoea, which will disappear on reducing the dosage.
In addition to curing of auto immune diseases detoxification and different combinations of these medications help to get rid of dandruff, acne, irresistible sweat smell, cracking of heels, Haemorrhoids, abnormal darkening of face and neck (Acanthosis), severe fatigue and various skin diseases.
