Accreditation is the official recognition given to individuals or organizations that meet specific standards in their field of expertise. In Sri Lanka, accreditation is granted by recognized local authorities or professional Bodies to ensure quality and competence in various fields like medicine, engineering, and forensic science, etc.
Sri Lanka’s legal system is based on Roman –Dutch law, with a strong emphasis on fairness, justice, and the Rule of Law. The judiciary is independent, and the Courts are responsible for interpreting and applying the law impartially. Accredited reports help expedite legal proceedings by reducing the likelihood of prolonged challenges to the validity or credibility of the evidence. Similarly, the GAD’s food analysis laboratory plays an essential role in public health and safety.
