Canadians with Sri Lankan roots honoured with Platinum Jubilee Medal

To mark the seventieth anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, the Canadian Government has honored a select few of its citizens with the Platinum Jubilee Medal.  The Canadian Government selected for honours those who have rendered many services to Canada and Canadians. Two Sri Lankan origin Tamils, who are Canadian citizens, have also been given this honour. Prominent businessmen Ganesan Sugumar and Kula Sellathurai have recently received this honour. Both have seen great growth in their respective businesses and are involved in many social development work. They have been donating and collecting millions of dollars especially for the development and enhancement of hospitals in Canada.
Besides that Sugumar employs youth with down syndrome at his business and creates a better mind set for those children which enables to make a massive improvement in their lives. It is also worth noting here that these two have been contributing to the development and improvement of the Canada and Sri Lanka bilateral trade sector for a long time through many
business organizations.
