Damrivi Foundation seeks assistance

Damrivi Foundation, a body of committed Buddhist academics and professionals that promotes and foster, spiritual, social, and economic development through the insights of Buddhism aims at enriching the lives of individuals and society by means of mental transformation using Buddhist Thought and Psychology.  

Founded in the year 2003, the Foundation is an incorporated trust and an Approved Charity registered by the Social Services Department in Sri Lanka. It is governed and operated by an academic and professionally qualified Board of Trustees, who provide their service on a voluntary basis and a monthly paid staff.   

Issuing a statement the Foundation said that whilst it is a non-profit, self-financing institution, it appreciates and acknowledges all support, advice, and donations received for the furtherance of its objectives to mentally transform and enrich personal and societal thinking through the teachings of the Buddha in an open, secular manner.  
“Our services consist of counselling, meditation, and academic course study. These services are available to all communities, irrespective of their class, creed, or race at a subsidized fee,” it said in a statement.  

“In the recent past, a three-storey building was completed with the help of philanthropists, for the activities of Dhamma work and counselling conducted by the Damrivi Foundation,” it said. 
The Foundation stated that it planned to lease the 3rd floor of the new building (2,600 square feet) and seek a tenant for it.   
“Also, in order to support the escalating costs, Damrivi Foundation seeks the benevolence of those kind-hearted to support the protection and continuation of dhamma activities at the Center and to provide solace and mental happiness to those in distress. 

“An initiative ttitled “Rs. 10,000/- to cover a day’s expense” has been launched, and it invites those interested to consider kind donations on account of their birthdays and anniversaries of their loved ones. Merit will be bestowed to all donors at the religious Dhamma programs (Monthly Meditation and Dhamma Desana),” Damrivi
